Email supportCommon questions
Which platforms does Routine support?
Routine works on iOS, macOS, Windows, and Android, and as a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Linux support is in progress.
Why do I need to grant Screen Time permission on iOS?
On iOS, Routine uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to block apps and websites. Without that permission, iOS does not allow any app to block another app. Routine cannot see what you do inside the apps you select — the selection is handled privately by iOS itself. You can revoke the permission at any time in Settings > Screen Time.
My blocks aren't working. What should I check?
First confirm Screen Time permission is still granted for Routine, that the routine is enabled, and that the schedule or condition you set is currently active. If blocking still doesn't apply, restart the device and reopen Routine. If the problem persists, email us with your device model and OS version and we'll help.
Can Routine be bypassed?
With strict mode enabled, Routine is difficult (but not impossible) to bypass. It blocks common workarounds, but it is a self-control tool rather than a security product.
Is my data private?
Yes. Routine is designed to keep your data on your device. Your list of blocked apps and sites never leaves your device unless you turn on cross-device sync. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Do I need an account to use Routine?
No. Routines, schedules, conditions, and app and website blocking all work without an account, and your data stays on your device. An account is only needed for cross-device sync, and you can create one later without losing anything.
How do I get access during the beta?
Routine is in invite-only beta. Join the waitlist from Settings > Sign In or Create Account in the app, and we'll email you an invitation link. Opening that link lets you set your password, after which you can sign in from the app's Settings screen.
Account, billing & privacy
Billing
Routine is free while it's in beta. There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions, and we never ask for payment details. Cross-device sync is still in development and may become a paid add-on later — if that changes, we'll say so here first. Questions about billing can go to support@routineblocker.com.
Delete your account and data
In the app, open Settings, tap the row showing the email you're signed in as, and choose Delete Account at the bottom of Account Settings. You'll be asked to type "delete me" to confirm. This permanently removes your account and any synced data from our servers and cannot be undone. Routines already stored on your devices stay there until you uninstall Routine.
You can also request deletion by emailing support@routineblocker.com from the address on your account.
Privacy and terms
Read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. For data access or deletion requests, email us at the address above.
